Tip of the Week – SOP’s – Nov 21/22

Safe Operating Procedures:  How are your processes to understand? Are they confusing, do they make sense?

When creating SOP’s, think as if you have been in the company for 2 days and you are having to do this particular process.  Look at it through fresh eyes. 

Are there any steps missing?

Does it flow and create an easy understanding?

Would adding a flow chart to the current structure assist in being able to implement the process better?

How often do you review and make adjustments to the current SOP’s?  Are they up to date for the application?

SOP’s can be made for any task in the workplace – even in administrative roles.  They may not need to be called Safe Operating Procedures, but they can be called Standard Operating Procedures to assist in people being able to fulfill and understand their roles better.
