“April 2024 Spotlight”

Health…

We tend to take our health for granted when we are younger and as we age, our health and bodies become a different story…

People who are healthy are truly blessed. When you don’t have your health, life becomes a struggle.  Some people say, when you don't have your health, you don't have anything and I believe that rings true to some point.  Some of the richest people die too young because of their health issues - even their money can't save them.

Until you are at that point, (struggling with your health), you just don’t understand or appreciate what good health means and is.

I had health issues throughout my life due to a weakened immune system and a digestive system that just never worked right regardless of what I tried. However, I was skinny and from the outside I looked healthier than I was. I had a great metabolism and was involved in a lot of sports and physical activity.

Throughout my life, I learned how to understand my body and what it was telling me. I took supplements and made some healthy decisions. I also made a lot of unhealthy decisions as well.

So, from the outside I looked like the picture of health, however, on the inside was a very different story that didn’t really take full effect until I had surgery in early 2020 – right before the pandemic.

I had 3 hernias and throughout that period, I also found out that I had candida overgrowth due to my unhealthy eating habits.

When I had my surgery, the medication, anesthesia, digestive issues and lack of movement created a very toxic environment that has taken me the last 4 years to figure out.

The health issues that I have endured throughout my life haven't been debilitating such as cancer or many other health related issues that some people have to live through - they are more  frustrating and annoying, but accumulative, they provide more issues than need be.  I can relate to people who struggle with their health and truly believe that there are many factors that create a toxic environment for our bodies the more we progress in our world.

My health has never affected my work or work ethic.  In the same token, I haven't allowed it to affect my personal life much either - I have always been a very active, busy person.  Helping others, having adventures, traveling, etc.  I will be honest - sometimes I was fighting myself because of lack of energy or sleep, sometimes I wasn't good to myself and should have relaxed more.  Since my surgery I have definitely learned to take better care of myself and pace myself.  Life is a learning curve - it is important to listen to your body and your needs.

I have always been on a journey to better my health and will continue to be.  I will never just accept how something is - I will try to find information, people, modalities, etc that can help me attain a healthy, whole and complete life.

Today, I am going to spotlight my newest and most important finding – at least that is how I feel right now…

My Eleventh Finding in my Health Journey … (taken from https://www.tipinions.com/my-health-journey/)

I have kind of done this ass backwards - which is why I decided to place this finding in the first position.

I wish I would have found things out in the opposite direction – it would have saved me a lot of frustration.

Let me give you a quick summary of things:

  • In 2019 I weighed 124 pounds and was seemingly healthy until I wasn’t
  • I had surgery on 3 hernias which took them 10 months to diagnose and then a longer wait to fix
    • During this wait, I found my 1st Finding – Candida Overgrowth
  • In early 2020 – literally 3 weeks prior to the first Covid shut down where I live – I had surgery to repair the 3 hernias
  • After my surgery – even during recovery I started to gain weight
    • This is what started this journey

My Weight Gain and Things I have tried:

  • Gained weight
    • 2nd Finding – Hormone Imbalance
  • Weight gain continued regardless of what I tried – 3rd Finding
    • Changed Eating Habits (June 2020 – Present) (Did each one at least 3-5 months for a true outcome)
      • Did Keto - gained 7 lbs
      • Added Keto Gummies
      • Did Candida Diet – gained 3 lbs
      • Took Hormone Supplements
      • Did Apple Cider Vinegar
      • Tried Intermittent Fasting – gained 11 lbs
      • Did Zone Diet – this worked for me for years and now it wasn’t – 4th Finding
      • Tried Keto again – gained 4 lbs
      • Did the Keto Gummies again
      • Did Gluten Free Diet – lost 12 lbs and then gained 16 pounds
      • Tried Zone Diet again
    • Added Exercise (June 2020 – Present) (Did each one at least 6 months for a true outcome)
      • Found exercises to assist women over 40 with Metabolic & Hormone Issues
      • Found a different exercise even more geared towards women with my struggles– 5th Finding
    • Started Doing Cleanses – especially ones for my Liver – 6th Finding
    • Added More Supplements 7th Finding
    • Thyroid Issues 8th Finding
    • Did even more Research (something I have been doing this whole time to try to figure this shit out) – 9th Finding
    • Back to the Liver 10th Finding

So, for a few years now, I was trying tons of different things to try to get different results and the only results I was getting were these:

Continued:

  • weight gain
  • frustration
  • lack of energy
  • lower self-esteem and confidence
  • disappointment
  • and the list goes on – if you know what I mean

A couple of things that surprised me the most throughout this journey:

  • continual weight gain regardless of what I tried
    • other people were having results and mine were going in the wrong direction???
    • We went on a summer vacation and for 4 weeks I didn’t exercise, didn’t watch what I ate or drank – didn’t care – honestly, I ate the worst I have in my life and consumed more alcohol than I have in years – and gained 1 pound (that doesn’t even make sense on any level)
    • Upped my research

Here are my new findings – Eleventh Finding

This gave me the information that started me down my newest road of this journey!

So from the information from the videos, I started doing this:

Before I eat anything I have a shot to help the inflammation and boost my metabolism.  Squeeze half a lemon, add turmeric, ginger & cayenne pepper (I started with ¼ teaspoon and am now up to ½ teaspoon)  Then wait half an hour until I have breakfast

Before lunch I have another shot that is one ounce matcha green tea with turmeric, ginger & cayenne pepper.

I have started taking these toxin binders:

Zeolite with activated charcoal - drops that go in your water

Apple Pectin Capsules

Black Seed Oil

For some good information on toxin binders, see: https://www.immanencehealth.com/how-and-when-to-use-binders

I have also started to do detox baths every evening to assist in the detox process and help ease the inflammation.

With the above items, I feel that I am now started to address the toxins and inflammation in my body.

So now, I needed to look further into assisting my body by adding the right foods & exercise. Ones I have tried previously haven’t given the results I wanted, but maybe it had more to do with the toxins and inflammation.

Based on what Dr. Pompa said in the first video – if good things can’t get into your cells due to the inflammation – it won’t work. So what I tried previously, might have worked in conjunction with what I am doing now, however, I thought I would try something different.

These are the exercises I am doing - cost $30 USD.  It is a 90 day exercise program - obviously there is more you can spend depending on what you choose.

I took the quiz and it set me up with the Fat Loss Extreme Program.  So I am working my way through that!

It has menu and information on food as well, but I preferred trying the MetaBoost Menu through Svelte.

It is very interesting.  I did that quiz and I am on the MetaBoost Menu - it was also $30 USD.  I have done the Metabolic Flush and then the 3 day menu and am now on the 7 day menu.  It is good - I am enjoying it and waiting to hopefully see some results in the near future!

I am also doing the isometric exercises involved in this and feel that between the eating habits, and the two different styles of exercises – which really is way less exercise than I am used to doing that I am in a good place to finally get the results I have been wanting.

I am currently sleeping better and deeper than I have in years and have been doing this for less than 2 weeks. I don’t have any remarkable results to share as of yet but believe this time I will.

I believe that my surgery affected me to the extent that it did because I have always had issues with my digestive system and my bowel has been very lazy and has not done its job well. This is something I have worked on through the years, it has gotten better but it still needs to improve. I am hopeful that all this will assist with that as well.

My Start Weight: 175 lbs

My Height: 5’4”

My Goal: Get my health back, lose 50 lbs, feel better, regain my self-esteem and confidence

I am currently 169 lbs (4 weeks later) – so I haven’t lost a whole bunch of weight, like some people in the first few weeks, but I have noticed some definite benefits and differences.

  • Cellulite is gone (and I had a lot – from my stomach to my knees)
  • I can tell my body is more muscular
  • Sleeping better
  • More energy
  • Less brain fog
  • More motivation

I understand that this is a journey – not an overnight success story. It took years to create this environment in my body and will not change in an instant. This can be frustrating as our world has become expectant of instant results. However, I am in this for the long haul. I will not stop until I get to the bottom of this and complete my goal.

I am thankful that I have had to deal with these issues. The information that I have learned, the way I now understand my own body, having a different point of view about health and weight with a lot more understanding and compassion for others, and being able to help others through their journey by sharing what I have learned.

Here is some information that every woman of any age needs to have the opportunity to see:
